[Connectivity] Arris wbm760 drops signal every couple of hours

I have Comcast HSI in N.J. & for the past 3 months I've been having trouble with my cable modem. The signal will drop for about 5-10 seconds every 2 hours. All lights are normally green, the US light is amber & the link light flashes green. When the signal drops the link light changes to solid green & the DS, US & Online lights go out. Then a few seconds later everything comes back & returns to normal.

I have had 4 techs out to look at it in the past 3 months. I've had the wires from the pc to the cable modem replaced, the cable modem itself replaced, & the fittings replaced both inside & outside the house. After each time a tech comes out the problems is solved for about a week or two then it starts acting up again.

I am completely out of ideas & every tech they send seems to just do the standard procedure without looking deeper into the problem. I have also tried new NIC cards & I do not have a router, the cable modem goes straight to the pc & is the only one in the house on the line.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm at my wits end here.

Re: [Connectivity] Arris wbm760 drops signal every couple of hou

some more info to help shed some light on things & hopefully get this resolved.

The IP config shows 0% packet loss & an average of 7ms ping.

I do see that when I run tracert I'm getting several timed outs on almost any address I put in. It will typically get to about 10th hop, sometimes as far as the 20th & then time out.

you have a noise issue in your area....it comes and goes, but it when it comes on, it drops your usnr down to lower 20's...which would cause your modem to drop offline.....there is a maintenance job open for your node, so they are aware of an issue....not many other calls in for it though....only 1 other trouble call....if it keeps happening, keep calling for service calls.....
